The story is an extract from the poem 'Works and Days' by Hesiod, the oldest known Greek poet. The poem gives advice to farmers on what activities to perform at different times of the year.


The Explore section features interactive timelines tracing the history of ancient Greece, important battles and great scientific and artistic achievements.


The time challenge asks children to place ancient Greek farming activities in the correct season of the year.
